Anna Koons

DIRECTOR, LEARNING & STRATEGIC INSIGHTS

Based in Austin, TX

Anna serves as Dovetail’s Director of Learning & Strategic Insights, helping Dovetail make better decisions. She leads our efforts to translate learning into strategy, synthesizing insights from across our portfolio, partners, and the broader ecosystem to inform high-conviction investment and partnership relationships. Working closely with our whole team and particularly focused on our international work, Anna ensures our funding and positioning are both rigorous and responsive to a complex, evolving field. Prior to this role, Anna managed research studies & evaluations at a center in the Duke University Global Health Institute. She has also worked with the Modernizing Foreign Assistance Network in Washington, D.C., the Eleanor Crook Foundation, and the UT Innovations for Peace & Development Lab.

Anna holds a Master’s in Global Policy and a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Texas, and a B.A. from Wheaton College (IL). Raised in Colorado, she now lives in Austin with her husband, children, and dogs. Anna is passionate about wellbeing for all, teaching children through play, effective M&E , and long bike rides.
